Men arrested for assaulting alleged sugarcane thief
After brutally beating a man they believed to be stealing sugarcane, two men and one juvenile boy were taken into custody.
While strolling with a buddy close to James Gumbi’s scheme, the victim was stopped by a few of the suspects. The victim and his companion were charged by the suspects with stealing the sugarcane from Gumbi’s plot that they were consuming.
Assistant Paul Nyathi, a spokesman for the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), announced on Saturday, March 2, that Beven Zenderani, a 25-year-old victim of the attack, has been located and is being examined medically at a nearby hospital. The attack happened on February 18, 2024, in Zenderani.
In relation to the heinous act, police also revealed that they had successfully located and taken into custody three individuals. The people who are currently being held are Hardlife
After rounding up the trio, the police dispatched a team to hunt down and arrest the prime suspect, James Gumbi, in Harare. Security operatives are also actively pursuing three other individuals believed to be connected to the incident.
