We Raze Down Criminal Hideouts In The Market – Nigerian Police Clear Air On Alana Market Fire Incident
According to the Lagos state headquarters of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), there was no fire outbreak at the Alaba International Market in the state’s Ojo Local Government Area.
It was previously reported that a fire event that happened at the market in the morning destroyed a number of goods and homes.
The director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, was quoted in the newspaper as stating that the mob prevented the fire fighters from putting out the fire.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police, clarified the situation on Twitter by claiming there was no fire incident and that police had destroyed criminal hideouts in the market.
“This story is untrue! Police from the Ojo Division raided shanties near the market on the basis of reliable information, apprehended some suspects, and found some firearms. After that, the shanties were burned down,” he tweeted.
