US FBI Arrests Three Nigerians Over N2.7bn ($6M) Internet Fraud
A business email compromise (BEC) conspiracy involving alleged theft totaling N2.7 billion ($6 million) has led to the indictment of three Nigerians in the US.
This is in accordance with a statement made on Thursday, April 13, 2023 by the US Department of Justice, Attorney’s Office, District of Maryland.
Kosi Goodness Simon-Ebo, 29, James Junior Aliyu, 28, and Henry Onyedikachi Echefu, 31, are the individuals charged.
According to reports, the three accused are South African citizens.
The defendants allegedly planned to get “unauthorized access to email accounts associated with individuals and businesses,” according to the Department of Justice, with the help of some Maryland citizens.
