Ukraine war: Russia Launches Second Pre-Dawn Missile Attack In Three Days
Russia has attacked Ukraine with a barrage of missile and artillery fire, the second early-morning assault in three days.
Three children and 25 other people, including one fatality in the Kherson district, were hurt.
15 of the 18 missiles fired, according to the Ukrainian armed forces, were intercepted by the nation’s air defense.
The city of Pavlohrad, which is close to Dnipro, was one of the main targets; a Russian-installed official said that resources for a Ukrainian offensive were struck.
With a thumbs-up, Vladimir Rogov said on Telegram that rockets were aimed against fuel stores and railway infrastructure.
Additionally damaged were 19 high-rise apartment buildings, 25 private homes, 6 schools and kindergartens, and 5 stores.
The Ukrainian military has been talking about a significant counteroffensive for some time, but without saying where or when it may start.
About 70 miles (110 km) from the frontline, in territory controlled by the Ukrainians, is Pavlohrad.
A “tragic night and morning” was how the Dnipropetrovsk military government of Ukraine put it.
Serhiy Popko, the head of the Kyiv municipal military administration, said that missiles were also shot down in Kyiv airspace.
Russian bombardment was reported to have taken place 39 times in the Kherson region, which is still under Russia’s partial control.
According to the authorities, they originated from ground-based weaponry as well as from drones and aircraft.
Just a few days prior to the most recent round of dawn missile strikes, 23 people died in strikes against the central city of Uman.
Russia said that its military was aiming at Ukrainian army reserve forces on Friday.
In recent months, as more Western weaponry has entered the nation, Ukraine’s air defense systems have been improved.
According to Russian sources, a Ukrainian air attack on Sunday killed four people in a village on the Russian border.
