Three People Are Detained After Reportedly Printing Counterfeit Money In Zamfara
Three suspects have been detained by members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly printing counterfeit dollars in Zamfara state.
Ikor Oche, the command’s spokesman, presented the suspects on Wednesday, April 5, at the NSCDC headquarters in Gusau. He claimed they were arrested in connection with printing and disseminating counterfeit naira and dollar bills in the state.

The phony note was recognized by the Keke Napep operator, who also triggered an alarm that resulted in the arrest of the offenders.
The spokesperson continued by saying that initial investigations had shown that one of the suspects had been involved in the illegal activity for a year. According to him, the suspect admitted that a local of Tsafe Local Government Area had introduced him to the illegal activity.
He claimed that the suspect had admitted that a second conspirator was supplying the counterfeit money and that each false N1,000 note was traded for N400.
“The operatives of the NSCDC traced the supplier of the fake currency notes to Kwartarkwarshi village, a residential hometown of the prime suspect who is now at large,” he said
