Their Lives In Danger – MURIC Seeks Double Security For Tinubu And Shettima Ahead Of May 29 Inauguration
Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima are the targets of heightened security measures, according to the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC).
Ishaq Akintola, the executive director of MURIC, issued the recommendation in a statement on Friday, April 28, 2023.
He claimed that it was founded on claims of increasing security risks and treasonous statements made by the opposition camp that bordered on desperation.
We feel it imperative to warn the country, in especially the security agencies, about worrying political developments in Nigeria, according to the MURIC statement. “We demand that the security authorities provide two sets of guards for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect, and Kashim Shettima, the vice-president. They must not experience anything.
“We remind those planning to shorten the presidential inauguration, scheduled for May 29, of the dire consequences of their actions,” the organization continued.
When contesting the election results, Mr. Akintola pleaded with the opposition to show restraint.
“Those who fight and flee get to battle again tomorrow. Those who did not succeed in 2023 will have another opportunity in 2027, according to the MURIC director.
Remember Paul Tibbets’ exclamation, ‘My God!’ after he dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, he continued. How did we behave? It was too late, though. Already, the harm had been done. For the wise, one word is adequate.
