Tanker crushes fresh Abia graduate after clearance
A recent Abia State Polytechnic, Aba graduate was crushed to death not long after receiving her clearance to report for the NYSC.
On Tuesday, March 5, a fast-moving tanker in front of the institution crushed Miss Mary Ogechi Ezekiel.
It was stated that Ogechi received a first-class diploma from the Polytechnic’s accounting department. After that, she went to the school to get her academic records cleared in order to enrol in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.
She said hello to her coworkers as she was leaving the school after completing the clearing and then shared her excitement at getting called up to the NYSC.
Moments later, she was reportedly “hit by a tricycle while trying to cross to the other side of the road. Before she could get up, she was then crushed by a fast-moving truck,” a source wrote on Facebook.
Ogechi, who was raised by her struggling mother, was said to have received a scholarship from an organization to do a post-graduate course before her sad demise.
Following her death, angry students of the Abia State Polytechnic stormed the street and surrounded the tanker that crushed her to death.
