Super Falcons ex-goalkeeper, Bidemi Aluko-Olaseni, dies after cancer battle
Bidemi Aluko-Olaseni, a former custodian for the Super Falcons, lost her battle with breast cancer eight years ago.
On their X handle on Saturday, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) verified the tragic news.
The NFF stated, “We are saddened to learn of the passing of former Super Falcons goalie, Bidemi Aluko-Olaseni, following an eight-year battle with cancer.”
“We are sending the family our best wishes and prayers. May peace be granted to her kind soul.
Aluko was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2017 and was given the all-clear a year later after undergoing treatment and a mastectomy.
However, she was again diagnosed with the disease in January 2019 and underwent 10 chemotherapy sessions.
