Suicide Bomber Bombs Himself With Explosive In Kaduna
A suspected Boko Haram member reportedly killed himself by blowing himself up, according to The Nation.
To avoid being apprehended by security personnel on Monday morning, it was stated that the terrorist detonated an IED to blow himself up.
According to reports from throughout the nation, the incident took place on Ibrahim Haske Road in the Keke neighborhood of New Millennium City, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.
The suicide bomber was on the watch list of security agencies, according to sources from the neighborhood, and they eventually followed him to a flat in the Keke neighborhood where he was hiding out.
The sources claim that a combined squad of police officers, DSS employees, and military surrounded the flat and engaged the man in a gunfight.
The alleged terrorist detonated an improvised explosive device inside of himself as the security personnel closed in on him.
One AK-47 rifle and two other live explosive devices were reportedly found inside the suspect’s flat, which the anti-bomb unit of the Kaduna Police Command later safely defused.
Security personnel eventually removed the suspect’s dismembered body from the site, and they later took the bomber’s wife and kids away for more investigation.
Malam Samaila, the area’s community leader, who also corroborated the occurrence, pointed out that the security personnel blocked up the street to keep people from going to the suspect’s home.
According to Samaila, it seemed likely that the security personnel had located the suspect and taken him to his home in order to make a live arrest.
He made the decision to commit suicide inside the house after realizing there was no chance of escape.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Millennium City, DSP Muhammed Jalige, the spokesperson for the Kaduna police, confirmed the event but stated that he was still expecting further information.
