President-elect Tinubu Congratulates Hilda Baci For Breaking Guinness World Record
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the next president, praised chef Hilda Baci for shattering the record for the “longest cooking time.”
On Monday, May 15, 2023, Tinubu, who had earlier lent his support to her cause, posts a message of congratulations on his Twitter account.
I’d like to congratulate Hilda Effiong Bassey on breaking the record. It was a magnificent demonstration of the Nigerian people’s spirit of excellence and can-do mentality. She has our utmost admiration, he tweeted.
Recall that on May 11, 2023, Baci launched a four-day “cook-a-thon” in Amore Gardens in Lekki, Lagos state, in an effort to break the record.
At precisely 4 o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, she turned on her cooker and started the competition.
On Monday morning, the cook broke the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes held by Lata Tondon, who is no longer the Guinness World Record holder.
The chef took home a top prize of $5000 for winning the inaugural Jollof Face-off Competition in 2021.
A reference book called The Guinness Book of Records lists world and human records.
One of the most well-known and widely used reference books in the world, it was initially released in 1955 by the Irish Guinness Brewery.
To be considered for a world record listing, individuals or organisations must provide documentation to the Guinness World Records team and go through a verification process.
