Obdulia Sanchez live video stream leaked on twitter and reddit, who she is and what she did
A young driver lost control of her vehicle while streaming a portion of the California collision that authorities believe claimed the life of her sister on Monday.
After a brief delay in the transmission, the driver apologized and leaned over the girl to try to wake her up. She claimed she didn’t mind if she had to live out the rest of her days in jail.
“I don’t want it at all, okay?… Honey, please rest in peace, the teen said. I’m really sorry you didn’t make it, (expletive).
Obdulia Sanchez, 18, was at the wheel on Friday when the car went onto a highway shoulder about 75 miles (120.7 kilometers) northwest of Fresno, according to the authorities. The truck swerved and rolled into a field as a result of her overreacting, throwing her sister out, according to the California Highway Patrol.
According to Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke, Jacqueline Sanchez, 14, of Stockton, perished in the collision. She was driving when a 14-year-old girl, also in the rear seat, suffered a leg injury but lived. According to the CHP, the driver was wearing a seatbelt, but the girls weren’t.
Nicandro Sanchez, the teen’s father, told Fresno television station KFSN that after seeing the video, he thought the collision was a “accident.” Nicandro Sánchez declared, “It was an accident.” “This is the process. Who is to say why?
He claimed that although he had not spoken to Obdulia, he thought she was aware of what he had done wrong but not what had actually occurred. “I believe she is aware of her mistake. I feel that way because she is aware of it. Although she regrets it, she killed her own sister, she remarked. Obdulia graduated from high school last year and had a challenging upbringing, according to Nicandro Sánchez. She had spent the previous two years working for Child Protective Services, he continued.
Obdulia Sánchez was arrested on suspicion of DUI and manslaughter and remains in jail on $300,000 bond.
The live broadcast was recorded on Instagram and posted on Facebook by those who viewed it. Stockton resident Mary Hernandez said she saw the video there and retweeted it. “People need to know that something like this can happen,” Hernández said, adding that she had received reactions ranging from anger to gratitude.
“I want to say that it was not disrespectful to his family to post it,” he said. Hernández said that he knew Obdulia Sánchez through social networks, but that they had never met. Rob Carroll, a senior deputy with the Merced County district attorney’s office, said he had not seen the video. But he hopes it will be an important test.
