Nigerian striker Arokodare suffers online racist attack in Belgium after penalty miss (screenshots)
Racist taunts were directed towards Nigerian striker Toluwalase Arokodare after he failed to convert a penalty kick during KRC Genk’s loss to Club Brugge the previous weekend.
On Sunday, March 3, Toluwalase’s team lost 3-0 at home to Club Brugge after missing a penalty.
After that, enraged Genk fans sent him racist direct messages on Instagram, calling him a “monkey,” a “n*****,” and other derogatory terms. Some even wished for his murder.
One individual wrote, “I hope you get slt in the throat and raped.”
Toluwalase has received message of support from other fans and players amid the racist messages from trolls.
“Black and proud,” he wrote against a screenshot of a DM calling him a monkey.
