NAFDAC cracks down on illegal alcohol production in Lagos Trade Fair complex
At the Trade Fair Complex in Lagos State, illicit operations involving the production and distribution of different brands of alcoholic beverages were discovered during a recent enforcement operation headed by NAFDAC’s Investigation & Enforcement Directorate.
According to a statement issued by the agency, unlicensed production facilities were found operating within Shop 34, Shop 17/24, and attachment 17/2 at Niger 4 Plaza, based on solid intelligence. Little plastic mixing tanks, makeshift filters, cartons of empty bottles with complete labels, corks, packing supplies, and a variety of fully made and packaged drinks were discovered by the team.
Over 3,452 cartons of empty and filled bottles, valued at over two hundred and fifty million naira (₦250 million), were seized and evacuated from the location.
