Man Arrested For Allegedly R*ping And Murdering 16-year-old Female Relative
On June 12, police officers working in the Igbo-Eze North Division of the Command, with help from the Neighborhood Watch Group, apprehended Junior Augustine Akor, age 21.
The suspect, a resident of Ette in the Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, was detained when it was discovered that on June 8 in a bush near Mpole-Ubere, his 16-year-old female relative Faith Akuji had been defiled and strangled to death.
The victim went missing on June 8 in the evening after being instructed by her grandfather to grind cassava in the community center, according to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe. Efforts to find the victim’s whereabouts proved fruitless, the statement reads.

’Her decomposing body was, however, found in the mentioned bush, following the arrest of the suspect, who confessed to having dragged the victim into the bush, forcefully had carnal knowledge of her, until she fainted and died in the process. The victim’s remains, found without any lower-body cloth, were evacuated to hospital and confirmed dead by doctors on duty.”he said
Ndukwe mentioned that the case is undergoing further discreet investigation at the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (the State CID for short), from where the suspect will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of the investigation.
