Lukaku’s Racial Taunts Resulted In Juventus- Stadium Being Closed For One Game.
In response to their supporters’ racial slurs directed at Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku during the tumultuous first leg of the two teams’ Italian Cup semifinal, Juventus received a one-match stand closure on Thursday.
The South Stand’s lower level will be closed for one game at the Allianz Stadium as a result of racist chants from “the majority of fans” in that section before and during Lukaku’s stoppage time penalty that earned Inter a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.
After being given a second booking and sent off for his celebrations in front of the home crowd, an incensed Lukaku was sent off.
Lukaku received a red card, which means he will miss one game, as confirmed by Serie A.
Following a heated post-game brawl in which both sides were at each other’s necks, Samir Handanovic and Juan Cuadrado were both shown the door.
Cuadrado, who scored for Juventus that evening, received a three-match suspension for striking Handanovic in the neck, while the Inter goalie received a one-game suspension for his involvement in the altercation.
