Lagos State Govt Shuts Down Ijora Bridge Over Massive Crack On The Bridge
The Deck-on-Pile Bridge at Ijora Olopa incoming Ijora Oloye has been blocked by the Lagos State government due to a significant crack.
Dr. Fredric Oladeinde, the state’s commissioner for transportation, said in a statement that the bridge has been closed for repairs as of Wednesday, May 17.
Oladeinde highlighted that there will be a road diversion and that the diversion became essential while repairs were being made, which the Federal Government will carry out in cooperation with the state government but did not specify how long they would continue.
The commissioner provided a list of pre-mapped routes, including one for drivers from the Eko Bridge to use to enter Ijora Oloye or Apapa: Iganmu/Sifax.
Iddo-bound drivers who are traveling to Ijora-Oloye or Apapa will be detoured at the intersection underpass and reconnected at the U-turn leading to those two locations.
Therefore, the ministry urged drivers who use the corridor to comply with LASTMA, the state’s traffic management authority, and the measures taken to manage the flow of traffic.
