Lady, 24, Docked For Using Spoon To Pierce Female Rival’s Eye During Public Brawl
Agnes Oluwatoyin, 24, has been taken into custody and charged in Lagos State for reportedly piercing her competitor Esther Adepelumi’s eye with a spoon during a public altercation.
According to Naijap, the victim’s right eye suffered severe damage during the incident, rendering it completely blind.
They live in the Ikeja neighbourhood of Lagos, on Omoyemi Adesooga Close, where the incident took place.
Agnes and Esther, the victim, allegedly disagreed on an unspecified issue, according to the police. They spoke to each other, and during that conversation Agnes entered her home, took out the spoon, and injured the victim’s eye.
She was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where the Doctor confirmed that the eye has been completely damaged and she cannot use it to see again.
The alleged assault was reported to the Police at Ikeja Division and Agnes was arrested and consequently charged before Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 25th May, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
