More Trouble For Naira Marley As EFCC Secures Order To Produce Him In Court Over Cybercrime-Related Charges
A reproduction warrant must be issued for Azeez Fashola, a.k.a. Naira Marley, to appear in court on the following postponed day, according to an order from a Federal High Court in Lagos.
Remember that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has charged Naira Marley with cybercrime-related offences while she is being held in police custody for her alleged role in the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad).
He is charged with conspiring to use a stolen card and in possession of a fake card.
On Friday, when the case was mentioned, Naira Marley was not in court. His lawyer, Olalekan Ojo SAN, informed the court that his client was in police custody after voluntarily surrendering himself for interrogation concerning the death of another hip-hop artist, Ifeoluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad.
Ojo urged the court to issue a reproduction warrant for Naira Marley to be produced in court on the next adjourned day.
The EFCC’s prosecuting counsel, Bilikisu Buhari, did not oppose the request. She confirmed that Naira Marley was in police custody and that efforts were being made to ensure his attendance at the next court sitting.
Justice Nicholas Oweibo adjourned the case till October 30, 2023, and ordered that a reproduction warrant be issued for Naira Marley to be produced in court on that day if he is still in police custody.
