I Don’t Know About Any Royalties Paid For ‘Huge Streaming’ Of Mohbad’s Songs After His Death – Says Mohbad’s Mother
She claimed that because of Mohbad’s enormous posthumous fan base, which sent many of his songs to the top ten of numerous streaming services, none of his business allies had paid the family a visit to talk about the money gained from his songs.

Some new claims have been made by Abosede, the mother of the late Nigerian musician Mohbad, also known as Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba.
The grieving mother stated that despite her son’s songs and albums being heavily streamed after his death, the family never got any royalties.
She made this revelation in an interview done by Saturday PUNCH.
According to her, none of Mohbad’s business allies had visited the family to discuss about the money made from his songs due to his large posthumous fanbase that pushed many of his songs to the top chat of various streaming platforms.
The woman said, “I don’t know anything about royalties. Naira Marley asked him (Mohbad) to attend shows, but he was scared. He called me, and I begged him, that the show was from Sam Larry. Nobody has talked to me about his royalties.”
Mohbad’s songs became so popular after his death that he gained billboard recognition.
He was featured alongside several international music stars on the Billboard Hot Trending Songs Powered by X Chart for the September 23, 2023 week.
The chart, which ranks songs trending on the microblogging platform, X, featured three songs by the late rapper, in its top ten spots.
These include ‘Ask About Me’, ‘Feel Good’, and ‘Peace.
Other names on the Top Ten chart include Nicki Minaj with her new hit “Big Difference”, Taylor Swift’s “Mean” and Drake’s collaboration with Sza “Slime You Out”.
