Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner Names July 7th “Davido Day
Fans and admirers of artist Davido are overjoyed since a day has been designated in his honour in the United States.
The Afrobeats musician, who is now on tour in support of his new album, played at the Toyota Centre in Houston, effectively shutting down the city.
Following the sold-out event, the 7th of July has been designated as ‘Davido’s Day’ in Houston.
This was announced by the city’s mayor, who praised him for his important contributions to the music industry.
Wizkid, Davido’s adversary, also has a day dedicated to him in the United States.
In 2018, the governor of the United States announced October 6th to be Wizkid Day.
This year is no doubt a year of recognition for Davido.
