Ghanaian Lady Swims Across Volta River From Buipe To Ada In 40-Days New Record (Watch Video)
A Ghanaian activist named Yvette Tetteh swims 450 kilometers in 40 days across the Volta River from Buipe to Ada to become the first person to do it. 450 kilometers is around the distance between Accra and Kumasi.
In order to raise awareness about the worsening water pollution in Ghana, Yvette Tetteh the Dangme activist swam in the extensive Volta River.
Ghanaian-British agricultural entrepreneur Yvette is 30 years old.
She is well-known for being an agricultural businesswoman and the Chief Executive Officer of Yvayva Farms. In 2016, she won the Koffi Addo Prize for Non-Fiction.
The 350-kilometer swim was a component of the Agbetsi Living Water Swim project, which follows the same sampling procedures as The Or Foundation team collecting samples in Accra to raise awareness about textile pollution. The project tracks the impact of textile waste throughout the nation and collects water, air, and sample every day to check for microfibers and microplastics.
