EPL: Potter Reveals Chelsea Star He Wants To keep: “He’s Essential For Us.”
Graham Potter, the manager of Chelsea, has underlined that Mateo Kovacic is crucial to the squad and that he wants to keep the former Real Madrid player at Stamford Bridge.
In order to cut the Chelsea roster in the upcoming summer transfer window, Potter suggested this.
Remember that Kovacic, whose contract expires in the summer of 2024, has been connected to a reunion with Thomas Tuchel, his former manager, at Bayern Munich.
In the meanwhile, that is what we are dealing with, Potter said Sky Sports, adding that the size of the team is something we need to consider for the summer.
Mason and Mateo are comparable, he continued. I have the utmost respect for him as a person. He has been wonderful to work with; he is really encouraging; he contributes to the squad; and he has served as captain for the last few games.
“Therefore, from my standpoint, he is significant, but again, it is also between Mateo and the club to talk, and when they have something to announce, I’m sure they will announce it,” the author said.
