EPL: I’m Happy I Left Tottenham – Ndombele Slams Conte
Antonio Conte, the former manager of Tottenham who is currently on loan at Napoli, has come under fire.
After his outburst following Tottenham’s 3-3 draw with Southampton prior to the international break, Conte was fired by Tottenham last week.
Ndombele, who joined Spurs in 2019 for a club-record £55 million, claimed that Conte would not give him the opportunity to succeed.
In his first year at the club, he also had a public argument with Jose Mourinho, and in 2021, he was once more fired, this time by Conte.
The midfielder, who has been on loan for the last 18 months, is presently playing for Napoli, where he has two goals and one assist.
I’m glad I selected Napoli because there was no other option with Tottenham,” he told SoFoot.
There was no other option than Conte.
The Frenchman said he was pushed out of the Tottenham squad by the former Italy, Inter Milan, Juventus and Chelsea manager who is now without a job.
Ndombele said he was told from the beginning he was not part of Conte’s plans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
