EPL: Guardiola Identifies Four Players Who Assisted Man City In Defeating Liverpool
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has named Julian Alvarez, Rodri, Ruben Dias, and Nathan Ake as the players that contributed to his team’s victory over Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium in a Premier League match.
Guardiola acknowledged the players’ significant contributions and noted their excellent performance against Liverpool.
The Spaniard watched as Alverez, Kevin de Bruyne, IIkay Gundogan, and Jack Grealish scored for Man City in their 4-1 victory over Liverpool on Saturday.
At the press conference following the game, Guardiola stated, “With Erling [Haaland], you have something special, and Julian is something special as well. Riyad was crucial to the first three goals, therefore the plan was to have him play that position for the second one.
“With the ball, he was very cunning and intelligent. He played for the national team, which was a world champion team. If you are not good, you cannot play on a world champion team,” he continued.
He continued, “He has a lot of personalities, and he works well with Rodri, Ruben Dias, and Nathan Ake. He displayed excellent play.
