Delta Youth Group Chastises Women For Inappropriate Clothing
Under the auspices of the Ubeji Youth and Employment Development Organisation, a group of young people in Delta State’s Ubeji village in the Warri South Local Government Area have taken harsh steps against females who wear obscene clothing.
According to Punch, members of the youth organisation began reprimanding suspected violators by striking them with the cane or fining them.
The implementation of the “War Against Indecent Dressing” campaign among young ladies in the neighbourhood, which began on Monday, July 3, 2023, is said to have caused dread among females in the area.
It was determined that some of the victims were compelled to pay up to N10,000 in fines or face 40 cane strokes.
When the story surfaced, the youth group’s secretary, Stanley Bomele, told the media that the exercise was essential owing to the provocative ways the community’s ladies dressed.
“Most of the girls had gone haywire in the name of fashion, with some of them almost walking around in nudity, which is annoying and does not reflect well on the community,” he continued.
