Carlos Vela Warns Messi Over Planned Move To Inter Miami
The player for Los Angeles FC, Carlos Vela, has warned Lionel Messi.
After news of Lionel Messi’s impending move to Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami broke, he cautioned the Argentina World Cup winner.
Messi entering the MLS is great news for the nation’s football culture, but Inter Miami won’t unseat LAFC as the favorite to win the league, according to Vela.
Last Monday, Messi made it official that he would leave Paris Saint-Germain on June 30 and join Inter Miami.
The seven-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, who was strongly associated with both Barcelona and Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, explained that he preferred Inter Miami because he wanted greater peace of mind.

However, Vela, who has been plying his trade at LAFC since joining from Real Sociedad in 2018, has welcomed Messi’s arrival but remains confident about his team’s chances of winning silverware.
Speaking to US TV channel TUDN, the 34-year-old said: “It’s great news for MLS [Messi’s arrival], but I still think that we are still the ones who want to win the title.
“It doesn’t matter who is on the other teams. Plans don’t change.”
Los Angeles, who are the current MLS Cup holders, currently find themselves in the third spot in the Western Conference table, while Inter Miami are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference table.
