BREAKING: Guinness World Records Breaks Silence, Says Hilda Baco’s Longest Cooking Time Feat Yet To Be Confirmed
The reason Hilda Baci’s new record for long cooking hours hasn’t been officially recognized by Guinness World Records has been explained.
On Monday, May 15, 2023, Baci broke the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes held by Lata Tondon, who is no longer the Guinness World Record holder.
The chef had already spent more than 90 hours in the kitchen at the time of this report.
Following that, Nigerians urged Guinness World Records to recognize Baci’s new time on social media.
However, a tweet sent from their official Twitter account stated, “We’re aware of this amazing record attempt, but we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record.”

The cook has been receiving compliments for her new accomplishment from people from all walks of life in the meanwhile.
In a message of congratulations, the president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who had previously expressed his support for her, wrote: “I congratulate Hilda Effiong Bassey on her record-breaking performance. It was a magnificent demonstration of the Nigerian people’s spirit of excellence and can-do mentality. All of us are incredibly proud of her.
In a similar vein, the former vice president congratulated Chef Hilda. You have cooked Nigeria into the Guinness Book of Records, and a proud nation thanks you. Keep the lavish food coming.
