According to Tulsa police, Camille Lewis and John Miles were detained earlier this month and accused of abusing and neglecting children.
According to the authorities, an 11-year-old boy who had been missing for a number of years and was potentially dead called the police in late January. She also disclosed his sister’s sexual assault.
The grandmother claimed that since September, she had been raising Lewis’ daughter, who is 13 years old, who had arrived at her house “flesh and bones from malnourishment.”
The adolescent told police that Miles, her stepfather, and Lewis would confine her and her brother in separate closets without food for days while beating them with belts and wires.
The adolescent claimed that she had to use the restroom in a bag or cup inside the closet. She said that the abuse began in November 2020 and ended when she moved in with her grandma in September 2022.
Additionally, she said that Miles offered her food in exchange for sexual favors and that she and her brother were had to sleep in the backyard doghouse and exercise outside in the bitter cold.
The youngster told authorities that she overheard her mother pleading with her brother to wake up in March 2021. Following that, the mother allegedly told her daughter that her brother had passed away after having a seizure and that she had decided not to take him to the hospital because “they did not want to get in trouble.”
Additionally, the child informed authorities that her mother claimed her brother passed away in her arms in August 2021 and that Miles and a cousin buried him in a park. The boy’s body was later carried back to the house by Miles, who then burned it in a barrel and threw the ashes down the sink after returning to get it.
According to the police, Lewis acknowledged to physically scarring her daughter and torturing the other kids. She asserted, though, that her kid ran away two years prior and hasn’t been seen since.
According to Tulsa police, the case is still being looked into and has been labeled a homicide because the brother’s remains have not been discovered. According to them, the pair can be charged with more offenses depending on how the inquiry turns out.
