Spurs’ Antonio Conte and Liverpool’s Jürgen Klopp
Despite Liverpool’s disappointing season, Jamie Carragher has advised them to stick with Jurgen Klopp. After competing for and winning the title once over the course of the previous four seasons, Jurgen Klopp’s team is currently eighth in the Premier League table, a significant distance behind Arsenal and Manchester City at the top.
On Tuesday night, Liverpool were defeated 5-2 by Real Madrid in the Champions League, raising further concerns regarding Klopp’s future as manager. But Reds legend Carragher thinks the German is still the right person for the job.
Additionally, the Sky Sports and CBS Sports analyst believes that the players are to blame rather than the manager.
Carragher stated to our Mirror Football colleagues: That’s my problem; where do you get another Klopp for Liverpool? You won’t get another Klopp.
“The first thing I believe is that you change the players, not the manager,”
The remark, “you’re not going to get another Jurgen Klopp,” that Carragher’s Sky Sports colleague Gary Neville made about Tottenham’s Antonio Conte when Spurs were under fire, was similar.
Even though Spurs are fourth in the table, they were expected to be one of the teams closest to a title challenge before a ball was kicked. Regarding Spurs and Conte, Neville said: They seem to be wandering aimlessly as if they are not compatible, so I believe they should shake hands, sign a contract for two or three years, and fix themselves.
“Why wouldn’t they get along? I’m not sure why these gloomy clouds are hovering over Spurs when Conte has secured Tottenham’s participation in the Champions League and been backed with £200 million to acquire the players he desires. At Tottenham, things are going very well; I would say that they are on track to be where I expected them to be.
“From Conte’s perspective, what job is currently better than Tottenham Hotspur for him? Their stadium is the most unbelievable in European football, and they play in the Champions League.
