A top Liverpool name looks to be heading for the Anfield exit door this summer.
This season, Liverpool’s midfield has been their biggest weakness.
Jurgen Klopp’s success at Liverpool was based on a pressing, fast, and powerful midfield with Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, and Fabinho as the primary players.
On the other hand, Wijnaldum has now left, Henderson is no longer the player he used to be, and Fabinho has also put in some questionable performances over the past few months.
A number of midfielders are now being considered for possible departure from the club ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Mirror says that Fabinho could be one of the players Liverpool wants to replace this summer.
Fabinho won’t be the only player to leave the club during the summer window, so there will undoubtedly be a need for midfield reinforcements. At the conclusion of the season, James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all expected to leave the team.
The obvious candidate for a move to Merseyside is Jude Bellingham. However, it is reasonable to assume that at least two central midfielders will be required in the summer if all or some of the aforementioned players leave Liverpool.
