On Monday night, the winners of the 2022 Best FIFA Awards were revealed.
At the presentation in Paris, Alexia Putellas and Lionel Messi left with the top two individual honors.
Prior to Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain and Karim Benzema of Real Madrid, Messi was selected the Men’s Player of 2022.
Putellas defeated Alex Morgan and Beth Mead to win the prize for Women’s Player for the second year in a row.
Lionel Messi is the top FIFA male athlete.
Alexia Putellas is the top FIFA female athlete.
Achraf Hakimi, Joao Cancelo, Virgil van Dijk, Kevin De Bruyne, Luka Modric, Casemiro, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema, and Erling Haaland make up the best men’s XI. Thibaut Courtois is also included.
Christiane Endler, Lucy Bronze, Maria Leon, Leah Williamson, Wendy Renard, Alexia Putellas, and Keira Knightley comprise the best women’s XI.
