I wasn’t signed to G-Worldwide to replace Kizz Daniel – AjuraEver since artiste, Ajura , was signed to G-Worldwide, there have been insinuations that he sounds like Kizz Daniel and that he was actually brought to the label to replace him. However , the singer waved aside the rumours in a chat with Sunday Scoop .
He said , “ I define my genre of music as Afro-extension , and this involves infusing different genres of music into the African sound . If anybody truly listens to my songs , you would realise that I don ’ t sound like Kizz Daniel. I always tell people that they shouldn’ t listen to my songs with the mindset that I’ m in G -Worldwide; otherwise, they would draw a comparison between me and Kizz Daniel and that would take their attention away from the good music that’ s on offer . I was signed to the label based on my talent; not to replace Kizz Daniel. ”
Ajura also stated that he had been overwhelmed by the love he had gotten from fans so far. He said, “ The reception that I’ ve gotten from the song,
Enchanted, has been surprising because I wasn ’ t expecting that level of acceptance. I knew I had made good music but because I wasn ’ t known to the public, I didn’ t know how people would react . Coupled with the controversy surrounding the exit of Kizz Daniel from the label , I wasn ’ t really sure of what to expect. What distinguishes me from other artistes are the messages that are always in my songs . If you are in pain and listen to my songs , you would get relieved forever. ”
Speaking on how he gets inspiration for his songs , the singer said , “ My inspiration comes in different forms . For example, Enchanted was inspired by the fact that some people are made to feel they are not beautiful because they look a certain way. I believe that there’ s no standard for beauty. No matter how much people criticise you, there is someone out there who loves you just the way you are . You may be blind, lame or have any form of disability; it doesn’ t take away from your beauty . Just develop your potential and work on being the best version of yourself . ”
Maintaining that he wouldn ’ t fall out with his record label , Ajura said , “ Every artiste signs a contract which is based on agreement. The terms and conditions in my contract are okay with me and I don ’ t foresee any problem. We have started well and we will end well . I am grateful for the opportunity given to me by the label . I won’ t be like some artistes who are ungrateful . ”
